Eat at your own risk A Register investigation has found restaurants throughout Napa County are ignoring state laws concerning public health. More on this story There's a provision of the California Uniform Food Facilities Law that has outlived its usefulness, if it was ever useful at all. It's in section 133946(c): "The food facility shall post a notice advising patrons that a copy of the most recent inspection report is available for review ..." More on this story The restaurants of Napa County and the inspectors from the Napa County Department of Environmental Health have an alliance, albeit an uneasy one. Both want good things for the restaurants, but being inspected isn't a restaurant owner or manager's idea of a good time. More on this story The state of California requires food establishments to do little in terms of public notification of food safety scores, requiring only that restaurants post a sign telling patrons a copy of the latest health report is available on request.
